SLSS 2100: Civically Engaged Leader
I took Civically Engaged Leader Class with Sean Crossland at Salt Lake Community College. One part of this class was to make a Service Project for any community. I created my project called "Hispanic Outreach and Citizenship Resources", after that I started visiting Hispanic LDS Churchs in Salt Lake City to encourage them to apply for the citizenship and get helpful existing resources to become american citizen.
I had the opportunity to talk for few minutes about the citizenship project through the Relief Society.
I am very thankful because I received great support from the Thayne Center for Service & Learning to develop this amazing and gratifying project.
Many people took advantage of the announcement and I had the opportunity not just serve, but I learned more about my culture and how hispanic face challenges for a better living.
